Vroom.
I've had my car just over six months now, and have put slightly more than 5k miles on it in that time.

At £1/litre/10 miles, that means about £500 spent on petrol.

I fill up every week for about £35 each time now that I'm commuting to Oxford & making the longer trip to Banbury every fortnight, so that's about $275/month on average.

No wonder I'm not going anywhere else.

That's about right

We're on track for a £600-700 electric bill for our first three months in this house.

Though it's obviously staying lighter longer in the evening (I almost always make it home before dark now) and the daffodils are just about ready to pop, we're still having at- or near-freezing nights with frost in the mornings, making the hot water bottle a veritable necessity.

Figures

Thursday last week the official word was disseminated at work: the move to the new building won't take place until September, after the summer holidays.

That doesn't mean much has changed really; it just means we have more time to screw everything up or to waste in endless pointless meetings.
