I'd scheduled an appointment for mom and me to meet with a solicitor in Banbury at 9:30am. Unfortunately I hadn't counted on having to navigating the maze of traffic diversions in place in Oxford town centre for the annual St Giles Fair, and barely made it to Banbury on time.
The solicitor was very helpful and answered most of the questions we had, and surprisingly wouldn't take any payment for the hour of his time. He did recommend Gran draw up a power of attorney (with his assistance) and perhaps a will, so perhaps he'll make his money that way.
After, mum and I walked into town to get a paper and bring some sandwiches in from M&S. Gran unfortunately decided not to join us for an afternoon drive so mum and I went alone to Croughton A.F.B. where she was able to finagle purchase of some american foodstuffs that are difficult for me to find cheaply (or at all) here in England; a few boxes (not a crate, thank you) of Cap'n Crunch breakfast cereal, a couple boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese, and my favourite cake mix & icing so I can bake my own birthday cake later this month.
For dinner we braved the dangerous environs of a pub on the High Street called the Exchange, again--sadly--without Gran joining us. I introduced mum to Magners cider which is a bit more refreshing and not as sweet as Strongbow. Yum.
Wednesday the Greek lady boss returned to work.

It's refreshing, however, once in awhile --and particularly when the rest of the day has been full of rejection and criticism-- to receive a compliment, or a "hey, I'm thinking of you" msg.
