More expensive than petrol
After a weekend getting ready for "The Visitation," as it's now known, yesterday I decided to treat myself to something evil and decadent, just because I now can; a full English fry-up at a roadside restaurant (Little Chef, in this case.)

It was just awfully good. Fried eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans, fried potatoes, and fried bread, with salad cream on the side. Only £5.95.

With a diet coke. £1.95. A third of the price of the meal! For flavoured sugar water! And no refills!

Have you ... any ... ... [beep] wool?
I'm quite tired. This is the second time in a row I've stayed up all night the night before going to work, though not because I wanted to: my sleep schedule is royally screwed, and it's something I've been trying to work on for the past month. I wasn't feeling great on Sunday and slept most of the day and night and next day; the drizzling damp dark weather didn't contribute much to any thought of leaping out of bed and being productive. Now I'm paying the price, so I'll have an early night and work another full day tomorrow. Then I have a nice five-day weekend before having to think about computer problems again.

Hard hats are mandatory
There's a bit of construction going on here and everything isn't working 100%. Should have it fixed in a day or four.

Catsup
Gee time flies when you're having ... something. Can't say it's been all fun on the island.

* I was diagnosed with bursitis in my left knee (also known as "house-maid's knee") which made it extremely painful to kneel. Some of my other joints offered sympathy. It's slowly getting better, seemingly on its own.

* A bit overwhelmed at work. Had a bit of a burnout.

* Managed to stay afloat, in spite of the Fierce Floods of '07, though it was touch and go for a couple of nights.

* With my father's generous advice & assistance, bought a car: a 3yo black Vauxhall Corsa.

* Had a great day out with AA visiting the town of Winchester and its cathedral.

* Old lady kitty Kate passed away after 16 1/2 years. Still, she was spoiled rotten her whole life & wanted for now't.

My lady boss is away for three weeks for her summer holiday, and I'm on a slow return-to-work schedule. Stay tuned.
