Time change day before yesterday: full effects seen/felt today. Thankfully, the rain has kept away the little monsters tonight.
I don't know why I expected differently, but I rec'd only one email response after sending half a dozen or more yesterday. What does everyone else do with their evenings? Are they really slaves to the TV?
I was downtown for the Mac Expo Friday after botching Thursday. Very crowded but an entertaining talk by Ihnkahto. Ran into Lenny Henry on Tottenham Ct Rd after. I had dinner on my own at Bella Italia Covent Garden, then a hot and crowded train ride home. Slept a lot of the weekend but was productive enough to get a replacement halogen bulb for the b-room ($10 for two) and find the FM antenae for the iTrip. Played around with my Flikr account, too.
The lady boss comes back tomorrow and I've been relatively productive on the new Staff database but not so much on the NTRAC project which fell through the cracks when I was ill last Thursday and Friday.

Up to Datedness
I had a nice birthday at Clare's. Lovely presents from her, Dad, Penny & Dan/Ainsley. Mom had bought me the hard drive earlier.
I've been low since, though. Can't put a finger on it. I've wanted to go to the gym but can't kick my ass into gear.
I cancelled my attendance at Cynthia's 60th birthday pub lunch. Couldn't see sitting with 17 people, and didn't know if I could afford it, really. I've been squeaking by on $200 Dad lent me earlier in the month.
I had a real hard time forcing myself to attend the GO committee meeting, but am glad I did in the end; I've volunteered to help out with the web page, and there's a walk on Sunday I want to go on.
Work has become a bit crazy.
Mom's oldest schnauzer Pepper died Monday while she was at rotary, and Ainsley found out the same day Bailey had cancer, and had her put down the next day. I've been ill the past two days with a bad head cold & have slept more than I thought possible.

Not much time
It looks like I'll be an uncle in a few hours. Dan sent email that he's on his way to VA after Ainsley entered "early labor". I rang him and he seems pretty excited and indicated Ainsley's running errands at the post office and the pharmacy--not quite ready for the hospital. I rang her and it was obvious she didn't want to chat "what can I do for you, sir?" so whatever.
The peanut thing has been an issue for the past year, on many levels.
Unfortunately, my surprise plans to visit them in December are no longer a surprise after mom let the cat out of the bag, so to speak, this week. And even now I'm not sure I should have spent the £270 for the flight and £50 for insurance.
